Joe E. Wright (Derrel E.)

A service for Joe E. Wright will begin at 3 p.m. Monday at Lacamas Heights Baptist Church in Camas.  Mr. Wright died of cancer Thursday, June 4, at his Vancouver home.  He was 51.

Born July 3, 1940, in St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. Wright had lived in Clark County since 1952.  He worked as a meat cutter, most recently at Fred Meyer, and was a member of the Meat Cutters Union, Local 555, in Portland.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah, at home; two daughters, Debbie Sprain and Tammy Clark, both of Vancouver; three sons, Joe, Ted and Cory, all of Vancouver; two sisters, Nancy Kietzke of Vancouver and Frankie McDowell of Rushville, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Mackey and Dick Wright, both of Portland; and eight grandchildren.

Burial will be in Fern Prairie Cemetery, north of Camas.  Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
