ObituaryLouie Romie Carter returned
to his Lord on Friday, January 7, 2011 at his home in Vancouver with his family by his side. Born
on July 19, 1918 in Clovis, New Mexico to Romie Martin and Ion (Tucker) Carter;
Louie was 92 years old.
A Clark County resident since 1996, Louie was formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado and San Antonio, Texas.
He married the love of his life Katherine Murphy on December 25, 1937. He
received his Master’s Degree in Education and worked as a teacher and guidance
counselor for over 25 years for the San
Antonio Independent School District. Upon moving to the Vancouver area, Louie and Katherine became members of the Day Spring Community Church in Vancouver and the Flying Eagles Model A Club. Louie will forever be
remembered for his love for his family and the love for his Lord.
Louie is survived by his loving daughters Carolyn Carter of Camas, and Barbara
(Tommy) Fraser of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years Katherine
Carter in 2009, and their infant daughter .
A celebration of Louie’s life was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 1:00 pm
at Brown’s Funeral Home: 410 NE
Garfield St., Camas, WA 98607.
Burial was held at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Brown’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been
entrusted with arrangements.
