Leona V. Claypool
VANCOUVER – A secretary for the Evergreen School District for 17 years, Leona Virginia Claypool died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at home in Vancouver. She was 82.
Mrs. Claypool was born
April 21, 1920, in Fern Prairie. Her
maiden name was Robinson. She lived her
entire life within 10 miles of her birthplace.
She began her career at
Mrs. Claypool enjoyed the Tuesday Morning Coffee Group, Fern Prairie Missionary Society, crocheting afghans and doilies, genealogy, flower gardening, deer and elk hunting, camping, fishing for steelhead and the Fostoria Glassware she collected at garage sales with her husband.
A lifelong Methodist, she
attended
Her husband of 57 years, James, died in 1997.
Survivors include her
daughter, Janet Kays of Camas; her son, James of Bellevue, Wash.; one sister,
Harriet Nelson of
