Ernest James Coburn

Ernest J. Coburn, age 65, of 26012 N.E. Brunner Rd., Camas, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1981 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Vancouver.

He was born at Little Falls, Minnesota on May 13, 1915.  He served in the army during WWII and had been a Camas resident since 1950.  He was retired from Crown Zellerbach.

He is survived by a brother, Cecil J. Coburn, Sr., of Camas; five nephews, Cecil J. Coburn, Jr. of Camas, Mike Coburn, of Washougal; Ron Coburn of Vancouver; Jim Coburn of Camas and Bob Herford of California, six nieces, Lois Becker of Vancouver; Marilyn Wollam of Port Orchard; Judy Hohenschuh of Camas; Peggy McClellan of Washougal; Patty Stevens and Debbie Curtin, both of Vancouver.

He was a member of Bennett-Barnett Post No. 27, American Legion and Schick-Ogle Post No. 4278, V.F.W. both in Camas.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5, 1981, 2 p.m. at Straub’s Funeral Home with the Reverend Weldon deMeurers officiating.

Cremation will be followed by interment at the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
