Mr. Day was born in England, July 3, 1842, and came to the U. S. A. at the age of nine years. In 1868 he was united in marriage to Mary C. Hymes at Tochester, Minn. He is survived by two sons, Arthur and Henry Delbert Day of Fern prairie; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Templer and Mrs. Daisy Ramsey, both of this city, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His wife died 38 years ago.
For the past several years Mr. Day had enjoyed reading the great Book of books, and talking with the author of it. To his pastor he recently expressed that he was ready to meet the God of the universe. He lived to a ripe old age.
“There is a land where beauty cannot fade,
Nor sorrow dim the eye;
Where true love shall not droop, nor be dismayed,
And none shall ever die.”
