Avery Dickerson
Former resident of Camas, Avery O. Dickerson, 59, died Sunday, June 15, in Grand Junction, Colo. where he lived for the last four years.
Services were held there, June 17, with Dr. Elroy Shikles officiating. Interment followed in Grand Junction cemetery.
Born Jan. 30, 1911 in Oklahoma, he had lived in Camas twenty three years and had been employed by Crown Zellerbach for 18 years before his retirement.
Survivors are his wife Dorothy E. Dickerson of Grand Junction, one son James F. Dickerson of Vancouver, 2 daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Rebecca) Speer and Mrs. Lloyd (Elaine) Compher both of Camas; 6 sisters, Mrs. Ida Dobbs, Mrs. Grace Hamerick, Mrs. Dosha Burch all of Washougal; Mrs. Osha Dickerson, Mrs. Nancy Evans and Mrs. Nettie Craft all of Grand Junction; two brothers, Bob Dickerson of Oklahoma and L. E. Dickerson, Sr. and 8 grandchildren.

The obituary states he was interred in Grand Junction. He is, however, in Fern Prairie cemetery now. He apparently was moved here possibly when his wife died.
