Friends here were saddened by the death of old time resident of this place, Mrs. William M. Freeman (Stella Van Vleet) who passed away at her home, 202 N. E. Graham St., Portland, Ore., Tuesday morning July 27.

Age 80 yrs. 7 mo. and 5 days.  Teacher for many years in the Portland schools of Clark County, having taught at Fern Prairie, Mill Plain and other schools here.

She was also a Music Instructor.  Survived by her husband, William M., a step son, William Jr. and one brother Lewis Van Vleet of Portland, numerous nephews and nieces.  Services on Thur. July 29, at 1 p.m. in the Pearson Funeral church in Portland with graveside services in the Fern Prairie Cem. at 3 p.m. at the Van Vleet family plot, a section of the cemetery which was donated by her parents for a public burying ground many years ago.
