ObituaryCharlotte Rose Ann Juedes
Charlotte
Rose Ann Juedes of Washougal, known in the local area for her longtime interest
in neglected animals, died May 7, 1991, in Portland.
Juedes
was born Aug. 7, 1929, in New Straitsville, Ohio, and moved to the Camas-Washougal area
in 1959. Because of her interest in
animals, she took in numerous stray cats and dogs and cared for them until
finding them a home. Juedes was a member
of the Vancouver Humane Society and the National Humane Society. In addition, she was a member of the National
Arbor Day Foundation.
She
is survived by her husband, Elmer Juedes at home in Washougal; son, Terry
Matthews of Vancouver; daughter, Barbara Grover of Vancouver; stepchildren,
Sandra Roll of Vancouver, Kirk Nolte of Lincoln, Nev., and Steven Juedes of
Tacoma; brother, Larry Wiseman of Kingman, Ariz.; sisters, Barbara Grim of
Nampa, Idaho, Jeanette Weaver of Circleville, Ohio, Juanita Berkshire of
Dayton, Ohio, Bette Berry of Alger, Mich., Bonnie Conner of Phoenix, Ariz., and
Lena Keeney of Prescott, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.
Her
funeral was held Monday at Straub’s Funeral Home. Burial was at Fern Prairie Cemetery.
The
family requests remembrances to the Vancouver Humane Society or Bess Kaiser
Hospice in Portland.
