Elizabeth
Kaufman died Feb. 15, 1998, at her home in Camas. She was 68.
She
was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Butler, Minn. She married Anton Kaufman in 1950 and they
moved to Camas in 1965. They raised
fryer chickens at their home in Fern Prairie for 32 years. Kaufman was a member of St. Thomas Catholic
Church and the Catholic Daughters in Camas. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and liked watching cattle in her fields.
Kaufman
is survived by her mother, Anne Vandenberghe of Camas; son, David Kaufman of
Camas; daughters, Karen Brisco and Mona Williams of Camas; brother, Gary
Vandenberghe of Camas; sisters, Pat Hollis and Ramona Nichols of Camas, Joan
Blondo of Washougal, Gloria Scott of Vancouver, Gail Apperson and Eugenia Baird
of Prineville, Ore., and Sharon Julson of Battle Ground; and two grandsons.
A
funeral mass was held Feb. 18 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas. A vault interment followed at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. Straub’s Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
