Carl Nelson

The body of Carl Nelson, who was killed while at work for the Hart Construction company at Longview on Saturday last, was interred in the Fern Prairie Cemetery on Monday, burial being in charge of W. Swank.

Decedent was at work on a pile driver when injured.  A guy rope holding a pile broke and in swinging struck Nelson on the head, dazing him and before he could get away the pile fell, striking him on the head.  He was taken to the Kelso hospital and died a few hours after admittance there.  Undertaker Swank was phoned for and he went over and brought the body to Camas, then took it to Fern Prairie for interment.  Rev. Rusert of the Lutheran church of this city delivered the funeral sermon.  Nelson was 39 years of age and was a relative of O. C. Nyberg of Fern Prairie.
