Mrs. Ostenson Dies At Age 70

Mrs. Karen Ostenson, a Camas resident since 1903, died Friday, Nov. 18, at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Vancouver.  She was 70 years of age.

Mrs. Ostenson was born May 1, 1885, in Oxendahls Prestyfeld, Norway. She came to the United States on May 15, 1901, and was married Dec. 17, 1902, in Decorah, Iowa, to Sivert Ostenson.  She came to Camas in 1903 and has resided here since.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Camas.

Funeral service was Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Stoller Memorial Chapel with the Rev. O. E. Luke officiating.  James M. Brown with his guitar accompaniment was soloist for Hold to God’s Unchanging Hands” and “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.”

Interment was in Fern Prairie cemetery. 

Mrs. Ostenson is survived by three sons, Edgar, Clarence and John, all of Camas; three daughters, Mrs. Clara McQueen, Mrs. Mabel Pickett and Mrs. Mae Dickinson, all of Camas; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
