Charles Pruett

A Washougal resident, Charles Lester Pruett, 56, a former mechanic for the Washougal Branch of Pendleton Woolen Mills, died Wed., Sept. 6, in Vancouver.

Services were held Fri., Sept. 8, at Straub’s Swank Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William D. Weber officiating.  Interment was in the Fern Prairie cemetery.

Born in North Carolina on March 15, 1916, he had lived in the Camas-Washougal area since 1951.  He was a member of the Lacamas Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife Hilda; three sons, Sammy, at home, David Pruett of Bellingham, Wash., and Perry Pruett of Washougal; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ann) Campbell, Jr., of Camas; two brothers, Vinson Pruett, Washougal, and Grady Pruett of Waynesville, N.C.; two sisters, Etta Taylor, Gainseville, Ga., and Ellen Carrianger of Waynesville; and two grandsons.
