Obituary
Edith Inez McCarley Bates
Edith I. Bates of Washougal died in Vancouver Nov. 13. She was 58.
She was born in Bokchito, Okla., Sept. 20, 1917, and had lived in Washougal since 1976. She was a homemaker and a member of the Camas First Pentecostal Church and a CB club. Her handle was “Sunray”.
Surviving her are her son Ed of Camas; daughters, Barbara Stump of Washougal, Eunice Walchar, Mary Jo Batten, both of Camas, and Vickie Sue Menefee of Auburn, Wash.; her brothers, Henry McCarley of Salina, Okla., and Ray McCarley of Pottsborough, Okla.; sisters, Mary Young of Salina, Okla., Sue Shadden of Lamont, Calif., and Pearl Woods of Oklahoma, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at Bethel Community Church Nov. 15 with the Rev. Douglas Turek officiating. Burial was at the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
Brown’ Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
