Obituary
Eugene Dobbs Batten
A service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Community Church in Washougal for Eugene D. Batten, who died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, in Vancouver. He was 85. His wife, Minerva, died in 1981.
Mr. Batten was born Feb. 11, 1911, in DeQueen, Ark., and had lived in Washougal 25 years. He had worked as a custodian for Camas School District. He was a member of Bethel Community Church in Washougal.
Survivors include three daughters, Joy Chadwick of Vancouver, Wanda Box of Washougal and Dottie Barney of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven sons, Charles, James and Doug, all of Camas, Bill of Carson, Keith of Washougal and Clois and Troy, both of Vancouver; 30 grandchildren; and 46 Great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Fern Prairie Cemetery. Brown’s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
