Obituary
Joyce Marie Batten
Joyce Marie Batten, 70, of Camas, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in Vancouver.
Mrs. Batten, whose maiden name was Sullivan, was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Mize, Miss. She met her husband while living in Pueblo, Colo., and they moved to Camas from Leadville, Colo., in 1957.
She worked out of her home making cakes and flower arrangements for weddings. She also enjoyed oil painting, drawing, going to the coast with her family, spending time with her grandchildren and being and active member of LaCamas Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Charles R., at home; two sons, Charles E. of Camas and James A. of Washougal; three brothers, Lynn of Mize, Miss., and Bert and Don, both of Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Wama Gay Maurizi of Virginia Beach, VA.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at LaCamas Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fern Prairie Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Straub’s Funeral Home in Camas.
