Stella L. VanVleet – 84

A private funeral service was held today for former Camas-area resident Stella L. VanVleet, who died Nov. 2, 1986, in San Anselmo, Calif.  She was 84.

Ms. VanVleet was born Oct. 2, 1902, in Washington.  She lived for several years in the Camas area before moving to California.

The VanVleet family were pioneers in the Camas area.  Ms. Van Vleet’s father, Lewis VanVleet, donated land for the original section of the Fern Prairie Cemetery.

She was survived by her brother, Clarke VanVleet of Sarasota, Fla.

The private service was at Brown’s Funeral Home in Camas.  She was buried in the Fern Prairie Cemetery.
