Beacock
A truck driver who enjoyed the freedom of
being self-employed, Hollis Vernon Beacock, 85 died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Born April 1, 1916. in Ypsilamti, ND, Mr.
Beacock lived in Clark County for 67 years. He worked in the shipyards during World War
II and also was a logger, truck driver and well driller, He enjoyed puttering around, gardening and
being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years,
Annie, at home; three daughters, Charlotte Smith, Nadine Gaul and Louise
Beacock, all of Vancouver, three sons, Allen, Larry and Clinton, all of
Vancouver; 13 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m.
Tuesday at Fern Prairie Cemetery. The casket will be open from 1 to 8 p.m.
Monday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to any
homeless shelter.
