Jesse Thomas Wilder
Jesse Thomas Wilder returned to his Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his home in Camas. Born on February 10, 1922 in Hart, Michigan to Emory and Daisy Wilder, Jesse was 87 years old.
A Camas resident since 2006, Jesse was formerly of Moscow, Idaho where he and his wife Rosella lived for 36 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II, and a member of Camas Bible Baptist Church. Jesse enjoyed hunting, reading, playing pool and his harmonica, entertaining people and telling jokes, poems, and singing songs. Most of all, Jesse will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his Lord.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife Rosella at home, children; Paul Wilder of Tensed, Idaho, David Wilder of Port Alsworth, Alaska, Marilee Hobson of Camas, Washington, Marilou Clark of Hillsboro, Oregon, Richard Zemke of Wildwood, Illinois, Daisy Browning of Camas, Washington, Juanita Larson of DeSmet, Idaho, Louise Gray of Moscow, Idaho, Dale Wilder of Post Falls, Idaho, Mark Wilder of Moscow, Idaho, Lloyd Wilder of Fairfield, California, Ruby Wilder of Post Falls, Idaho, Pamela Willms of Hayden, Idaho, Arthur Wilder of Redmond, Oregon, Laura Wood of Rome, New York, Gloria Wilder of Bend, Oregon, and Deeanne Lambert of Albion, Washington, brother Samuel Wilder of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, and sisters Bethel O\\\'Connor of Winter, Wisconsin, Louise Butler of Sheldon, Wisconsin, Emily Strehmel of Sheldon, Wisconsin, Rosalea Teele of Glen Flora, Wisconsin, and Linda Wilder of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, 64 grand children and 28 great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Emory and Daisy Wilder, children Sharon Gomberg, Donald Wilder, and Starr Goerzen. Brothers William Wilder, Lawrence Wilder, Lyman Wilder, Lyle Wilder, and sisters Beulah Wilder, Marion Wilder, and Cora Rees.
There will be a Celebration of Jesse’s life on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Laurelwood Baptist Church: 17015 NE 172nd Avenue in Vancouver. Viewing will be held on Friday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Brown’s Funeral Home in Camas. Interment will be held at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Brown’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
